Cameron highlands 2 day trip (Malaysia travels)

Cameron highlands 2 day trip (malaysia travels)

Hi readers! I've been busy lately rushing on my assignments and projects but I've come back with a popular review of one of Malaysia's famous travel spots →→→CAMERON HIGHLANDS!!

This is a place that left me yearning to come back ever since my last visit in 2012 which is 5 years back when I was a teenager travelling with my grandparents. The reason why i love the place is the air is so fresh and the weather is cold and humid. I never got to eat steamboat here the last time which left me with endless regrets.

My coursemates decided to host a trip here for our last year trip or graduation trip and I instantly agreed. So here goes my Itinerary for the trip:

1. Kea garden guest house

We arrived in cameron highlands by driving from penang which is 3 hours of non-stop journey but i think from kl there should be buses available.

Here we were surrounded by beautiful landscaped flower patches which is an awesome spot for photography. There are ice-cream available and souvenirs if not mistaken.

Many prefer to stay here which you can book through:

The place is convenient, very close to food and other attractions.

A nice place to sit back relax and get away from all the hustle and bustle of the city.

So many patches which is an awesome sight for people who love flowers.

2. The Lord's cafe

This is highly recommended. Our coursemates brought us to try a lovely cafe in the middle of tanah rata which is a very english style cafe for really cheap scones, strawberry cakes and strawberry smoothie. The service is self service, where they will call your number through a speaker and then you can collect your meal. The strawberry cake is very delicious and it is very quickly sold out so come at noon 12pm sharp to get a piece and you will love how nice it taste.

The location of the place:

It is open from 10am to 7pm daily except for sundays and closes early at 6pm on saturdays.

3. Agro Technology Park in MARDI, Cameron Highlands

Im not going to include the BBQ we had the night before as its prepared by ourselves so we will proceed with the next days schedule.

We bought tickets to visit the Agro Technology Park which is even more beautiful than i expected. It is very large like a theme park for flowers, fruits and vegetable. sounds boring?? but no it is also perfect for shooting as we bumped into a movie production while we were here.

The agrotechnology park is divided into 6 main areas:
the English Garden, Herb Garden, Orchid Garden, Rose Garden, research centre and an information centre,  where tourists can also buy souvenirs.  Mardi's Agrotechnology Park is home to 40 varieties of roses, 10 strawberries, 100 citrus fruits, at least six types of anthuriums, four varieties of apples, and pears and persimmons.

ADMISSION FEE:

Child: RM3.00

4. Boh tea garden

This is a popular attraction but is quite dangerous to reach even by driving due to the slopes of the hills which are difficult to turn and the tiny road is shared by 2 directions of cars.

Walking is possible but is very tedious, not recommended for old people which is definitely not  a joke.  I saw tourists that prefer to walk up the hill but I still feel its not encouraged.

But the view is spectacular as you can see the whole tea plantation from the cafe at the top which its walls are made of glass to allow you to enjoy the view while tasting their different varieties of tea. There is also very special cakes like Nasi lemak cake and cendol cake which my friends recommended it to be very tasty.

Try not to come during school holidays or peak seasons as it is jam packed and will eat up most of your time.

Location:

5. The Kea farm market

Whilst at the Kea guesthouse, you can opt to walk around the market place which is packed with cheap strawberries, corns, vegetables, souvenirs, fried squid and lovely chocolate fondues. The perfect place for scavenging your steamboat materials if you are opting on rocking homemade steamboat.

6. Watercrest steamboat

Since I am a lover of watercrest soup, we tried the steamboat here where you can see they planted the watercress next to the restaurant. so you can imagine how fresh it is.

Price is around RM20-40 per person depending on your appetite, but to me its definitely worth it. The soup is a very chinese style thick based watercress soup with ginseng and other chinese herbs while the vegetables are crispy and fresh.

Since, I was too hungry I didnt get a photo of the place entrance but you can use this link to get to the location.

Thats all for my recommendations of cameron highlands, if you are interested in other places to travel and eat in Malaysia do follow me on my adventures.

Rm1 Ice kacang near nibong tebal

We searched terribly hard to find the place. After many attempts we finally found it settled upon a quite town right after a green mosque.

The price is very affordable with generous portions of milo on your ice kacang. The only downside is there are lots of flies and the cleanliness of the tables arent too much to ask for.

If your not a clean freak and you enjoy a good mamak style lunch with unbeatable price. Heres the location!

Hi im back again after the long period of assignments, labs and classes. Today im going to talk about my experience in owls cafe bukit jalil.

Just wanted to show you what the train looks like.
The weather is cold and the air is fresh as can be. You get to experience Genting Highland without even 30 minutes! It took me hours to get to genting highland from KL. Besides that, have I forgot to tell you about the view of Penang from here ( just magnificent).

They have photo areas which you have to pay to go in but I opt out haha>< because I was on a budget.

Then I took the stairs to the place where you can photo with the ancient cannons.
This is the indian temple which has a magnificent architecture.
I wish I could bring the pearl back XD just kidding.

I had a great time and even took pictures as a memory.
Here lies the love locks that couples would definitely dig it. Remember to leave yours too as a memory.
I took a photo but I look horrible after the jog.
I know people would freak when they see this. Its found inside The Monkey Cup which is a cafe that sells coffee. Free shuttle is provided for those who buy a drink as it is quite a distance away from the train departure area. We jog all the way there!

Me looking at my shoes in the middle of this shoot and it turned out like im sleeping.

There are many beautiful houses on the jogging track you can see.

We also did not let go of this post box which dates back in time. You cant find it anymore this days.

So thats it, hope you enjoy my blog and please have a look at my other post too ^^

Top budget hotels (Taiwan WOW hostel ximending review)

Top Taipei Hostels

Me and my friends went on a backpacking trip to taiwan last summer and this is where we stayed in ximending
We were in a rush that i couldnt even take some photos b4 we left.

The place i recommend is

Wow ximending hostel

click on the link above for more details on the booking

It is a very hyped up place where many teenage and couple travellers stay mostly koreans, chinese, malaysians, Europeans. You get to interact with a lot of people.
The hostel are managed by young taiwanese who are friendly and very informative. We were at wits end about our trip plans but they are helpful enough to recommend where to go, where locals eat, and how to get there.
I highly recommend this place. The atmosphere is lively. Even at night there are people sitting and chatting at the living room.

Ammenities:

Our beds are like dorm bunks but they have curtains that offer you privacy. Lockers are not enough to fit ur luggage but can fit ur laptops, priced goods fair enough. Its just beside ur bed.
Washer machine is provided (free washing powder). For the washer machine every wash is 50 twd. Theres also a separate dryer machine.
There is one socket (3 point plug) in your bunk.
Hairdryer and bathing shampoo and soap is provided. The hostel is the cleanest and well decorated.

Location:

Lastly, it is very strategic. It is in the middle of the ximending one of the liveliest tourist attrations. By walking you can reach the nearest intercity train. There are many shops downstairs such as, nike, kfc, sushi restaurants, food stalls and watsons (facemask are very cheap in taiwan). There are also perfomances in the square by young teenage performers.(Photos do not belong to me. They belong to their rightful owners.)

Every morning breakfast is free. You can prepare it yourself. Theres eggs, bread, jam, and ham. All day long freeflow coffee and tea is available.
The toilets are cleaned regularly. There is a hairdryer in every bathroom and a separate washroom. Be prepared in taiwan water hoses arent always available.
